Support Student Mental Health and Behavioral Needs
Sarah knows that students can’t learn if they don’t feel safe, supported, and understood. That’s why she’s committed to expanding mental health resources and strengthening behavioral support systems in our schools. She believes in meeting students where they are and giving teachers the tools to effectively run their classrooms.
Stronger Communication with Caregivers
Parents and caregivers deserve to know what’s happening in their child’s classroom and to feel like real partners in their education. Too often, families are left in the dark, unsure where to turn when they have questions or concerns, or feeling as if their voices are not heard. Sarah understands how frustrating that can be because she’s been there herself. She’ll work to improve communication between schools and families, ensure concerns are taken seriously, and build a culture where parents feel heard, respected, and involved every step of the way.

Increase Teacher Pay and Retain Great Educators
We are so honored to have the incredible teachers and staff that we do. They do so much to support our students, and they deserve to be compensated fairly. Our district has the lowest teacher and staff pay in the area while also having the highest health insurance costs. Sarah will fight to increase salaries and ensure we’re competitive with neighboring districts so we can keep great teachers in our classrooms, and not lose them to counties offering more.
Fully Fund Our Schools Even When It’s Hard
Sarah understands that as a rural district, we don’t always have the same financial tools that larger counties do. But that can’t be an excuse to let our students fall behind. She’s committed to creative, collaborative problem-solving, working with state leaders, pursuing grant opportunities, and making sure every budget decision reflects our community’s values.
